Our Impact

We have helped over 6,000 young people through direct support, intervention and development.

What we do

With over 40 years of experience in providing sport & youth services, we have established our unique youth development programme encompassing 4C’s –

Connection, Confidence, Character and Contribution.

We use sport, youthwork, mentoring & media to improve the lives of young people, with a focus on those who live in areas with high levels of crime, antisocial behaviour and deprivation.

4C’s has been designed to bring out the best in young people by providing them with high-quality sports sessions, mentoring & guidance – preparing young people to make that ‘next’ step. Improving their employability, key life skills and facilitating the transition into sustained education, employment and/ or training.

1. Connection

We believe positive bonds between young people and youth workers/ coaches are key. This built-up trust supports young people to connect with their local community – including other young people, teachers, schools, colleges and local businesses. By bridging the gaps in local society through positive activity, community activism and intergenerational work, we create a safe environment for young people to develop and grow.

2. Confidence

Through our youth-led programmes, young people are given an opportunity to increase self-worth through the completion of activities – leading to a sense of accomplishment. Continual consultation with young people (using the ‘Hear by Right’ framework) enables youth development and empowerment – providing opportunities to learn, plan activities, participate and increase self-esteem.

3. Character

Our safe and diverse environment helps young people to develop their skills and practice their passions – cultivating a homely atmosphere, built on helping young people reach their potential. At the same time equipping them through our projects: the ability to meet challenges head on, keep safe from hazards and increase resilience.

4. Contribution

Connection, confidence and character are all fundamentals that enable a young person to be an active contributor to society. We give young people the platform to gain knowledge, learn life skills and experience through our sports-based personal development programmes– leading to opportunities and pathways in education, employment and further training.
