Powered by Bring It On Brum and funded by the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, Bring It On: Half-Term at Naseby offers a vibrant and empowering snapshot of a week packed with energy, laughter, and growth. Hosted by Our Community Foundation at the Naseby Centre, this initiative created a safe, welcoming space for young people in one of Birmingham’s most underrepresented communities to come together, stay active, and enjoy nutritious meals throughout every half-term break.
The Bring It On Brum programme is designed to do more than just occupy young minds during the holidays — it’s about providing enriching opportunities that foster personal growth, social connection, and a sense of community. This initiative not only kept young people engaged but also empowered them by offering an environment where they could learn, develop, and thrive. The week was filled with a range of activities, from sports and creative workshops to life skills sessions — each designed to help young people build confidence, teamwork, and new skills they can carry into their future.
The sessions were carefully curated to not only keep young people active but to also provide important life lessons. With an emphasis on learning through fun, the young participants got the chance to discover new interests and talents, all while enjoying the support and encouragement of staff and volunteers. Importantly, each day also included healthy meals, ensuring that the young people were fuelled not just for their activities but for a brighter, healthier future.
One of the key themes of Bring It On: Half-Term at Naseby was empowerment — young people taking ownership of their time, developing new skills, and being part of something bigger than themselves. The film captures the joy, laughter, and camaraderie that unfolded throughout the week, showcasing the profound impact of positive holiday provision. It’s a testament to the power of community and the difference that a safe, engaging environment can make in the lives of young people.
By providing an opportunity for young people to stay active, learn, and eat well during the holidays, Bring It On: Half-Term at Naseby not only addressed key needs but also helped young people in the area break away from the challenges they face. The initiative highlights how a well-supported youth programme can provide a lasting, positive impact on a community in need.
