LEADERSHIP TEAM.

STRATEGY.

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO.

BAME unemployment is rising 6 times faster than white unemployment (TUC)

Young people from Pakistani heritage had lower employment rates compared to overall population. (Pakistani 54%, Overall 74%) Figures, ONS 2020.

Alum Rock is the largest and youngest ward in Birmingham, with a high BAME population.

It is one of the 20 most deprived communities in the UK,  nearly 50% are unemployed. (Birmingham City Council)

Young people living in poverty are twice as likely to be out of work. (Impetus)

These inequalities have multiplied due to the pandemic and cost of living crisis.

We’re here to change that.

OUR MISSION.

UNLOCKING POTENTIAL SINCE 2006.

OUR Mission is to reduce Youth Unemployment by 10% in Birmingham by 2026, focusing on inner-city BAME communities.

OUR tailored programmes are youth-led, working from the grass-roots we engage, empower and enrich young people (11-21) in inner-city Birmingham through Sport, Social enterprise and Youth Social Action.

Helping to overcome barriers, improve well-being, and secure employment for the future.

WORKING WITH US.

EVERY PENNY COUNTS.

FUNDRAISING.

It takes a village to raise a young person.

Volunteering.

As part of our commitment to improving the lives of young people, we work with organisations – preparing young people for the world of work.

Could you volunteer support for workshops, employability taster days, mock interviews and mentoring? Your time engaging with our young people is crucial to enhancing our service, improving your prospects and plays a vital role in helping young people move into future employment.

Organisations that volunteer their expertise and knowledge with Our Community Foundation find that their staff are more inspired at work and are grateful for the opportunity to engage with their local community.

we need your help to create a better future.

strategic partnerships.

A brilliant way we can work together to build a better community. At the same time, developing your own internal staff and promoting your organisation’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Working in partnership with organisations, individuals, and institutions is an essential means of achieving our mission. These partnerships make a real difference in improving the lives of young people.

However, you choose to help – we cannot thank you enough!
